Guiding Goddess Archetypes
Circe, Inanna, Persephone

If you're a Scorpio or know someone who has major Scorpio energy in their natal chart, you know that this sign is more commonly associated with the "negative" traits than the positive ones. This mentality is usually because it's ruled by Mars, the planet of action, aggression, desire, and survival instincts (fight or flight) which can be a bit intimidating or intense for some. I personally think it's the most misunderstood zodiac sign, as an Aries also ruled by Mars, and argue that it's all about perspective.

Scorpios are usually known to be intense, mysterious, and as a water sign, have deep inner worlds. In their most developed state, they are the best sign at transmuting negative energy into positive energy, using creativity to transform hardships into power and setting strong boundaries.

When I think of the Scorpio archetype, I associate it with the Greek Goddess Circe. I'm sure you know her as the witch who turned men into pigs in Homer's Odyssey.. as if they didn't deserve it! Crossing Circe's boundaries, taking advantage of her hospitality and generosity. She is the embodiment of screw me over and get stung.

She also is deeply connected to plant magic and harnesses the power of the natural vegetation on her island Aeaea to transform the dire circumstances of her exile and hone her craft in order to survive.
