Welcome to my little nook of the internet where I share the ebb and flow of my creativity.
Empowered Moon Designs is the crossroads of my love of the natural world, my drive for soul development, and my favourite form of art therapy and creative self expression.
Through my intentional creations, I weave in my metaphysical interests throughout my brand. My passion for exploring astrological transits, aligning with the mythology and guidance of the divine feminine, anchoring into aromatherapy, and performing energy healing rituals are themes incorporated throughout my small business.
I handcraft unique crystal jewellery pieces, infuse botanicals and gemstones into goddess inspired essential oil rollers, as well as create intentional spell kits and metaphysical mystery boxes for the modern mystic. All of my products are infused with reiki healing energy and made in small batches with high quality oils, stones, and stainless steel/gold plated metal jewellery findings.
Empowered Moon is the vessel in which I wish to connect with other likeminded souls and to bestow my curated gifts of knowledge and empowerment to you.

About Alexia’s spiritual journey and roots
Alexia’s journey begins in childhood where her dream was to become a Marine Biologist, and she planned on relocating to a coastal city to “save the whales” as her father would tell people when they asked what she was going to do when she grew up. She spent her undergraduate career studying Marine and Freshwater Biology at the University of Guelph, ON where she gained hands on experience studying and caring for a wide range of aquatic animals such as salmonids, bamboo sharks, crustaceans, temperate basses, and pumpkinseed sunfish. Her most memorable and fulfilling experiences were examining the animal behaviour and welfare of zebrafish through environmental enrichment in laboratory environments, caring for the intertidal room of live specimens collected on a field course on the East Coast, and performing field work in the sub-Arctic rock bluff tide pools of the Hudson Bay.
Her passion for animal behaviour and freshwater ecosystem management is synonymous with her interest in spiritual healing and self development. Her innate empathic nature and intuitive gifts were under the surface all along, but she had not consciously realized her healing abilities at this point in her journey yet. It was not until the end of 2019 with the sudden passing of her Nonno that her spiritual awakening subsequently followed. This loss simultaneously occurred around the same time she was completing her degree during what would become “The Great Pause” (aka covid lockdown).
This difficult period in her life became a time to stop and reflect on what the next chapter would bring and how she would navigate academic burnout whilst grieving the loss of her grandparent. However, this pause was a catalyst for her healing journey, allowing her to get curious, and reminded her of her value outside of being someone’s daughter, girlfriend, student, and all other imposed titles she associated with at the time. Her strong desire to learn and grow on a personal level motivated her to apply her analytical skillset to research and energetically self-experiment with the healing properties of crystals, essential oils, and deep diving into the astrological transits, with particular interest in working with the moon phases.
She began creating handcrafted gemstone jewellery pieces so that she could carry the energy with her by wearing and charging pieces during different moon phases. She compiled a personal “meta-analysis” journal of all the metaphysical correspondences that are associated with each stone from their zodiac sign, tarot card, plant/essential oil energy, and chakras by experimenting with how they resonated with her and integrating her research from various physical and online sources, ultimately bridging the scientific and spiritual.
Through a series of synchronistic events after lockdown, she discovered White Feather Holistics in 2021 where she met the owner Tracey Rogers who was advertising a beginner class that would enlighten Alexia to the world of Reiki healing. She learned about the healing power of reiki through the use specific hand positions and eventually symbols used to balance the chakras as well as integrate crystals to perform energy work. This spiritual shop became a hub where Alexia connected with friends who invited her to attend a local café hosting a book club (Café Amor & Art) who happened to be starting The Artist Way by Julia Cameron as she began practicing reiki.
This was the breakthrough moment Alexia was searching for on a soul level. A sense of fulfillment and purpose that made her feel like she was finally home within herself (and perhaps a past life knowing). Through consistent use of the “Morning Pages” method described in The Artist Way, Alexia took a leap of faith and began to cultivate her vision of her small business “Empowered Moon Designs” where she sells intentionally handcrafted gemstone jewellery, essential oil rollers, and infuses them with reiki energy. Her intention with this business is to connect with other spiritual seekers and healers by empowering them on their spiritual path and continuing her own personal development and creative self expression.
In 2022, Alexia became a level two Reiki Practitioner where she began practicing Reiki on friends, family, participating in reiki shares, connecting with clients through her offerings at a counselling office and continued to grow her small business participating in local vendor events. As she progressed in her creative and healing endeavours, she also continued to grow her scientific career working jobs in her area of study as her long-term vision is to utilize her degree alongside her passion for holistic wellness sharing her spiritual gifts. She feels most at peace in nature, ideally in the forest or near a lake (Taurus Moon/Cancer Rising) especially to recharge after a long day of chasing her dreams (Aries Sun).
Recently Alexia became a Reiki Master (June 2026) and is inspired to take a holistic approach with her small business by offering a range of healing products and services as she grows into this next phase of her life. Her philosophical approach to spirituality is rooted in her ecological background. In ecology, organisms (us as individuals) do not exist in a closed system. We are multidimensional beings that interact with our environment that shape us into communities, populations and when watered and nurtured intentionally, we thrive in a diverse ecosystem.
With that being said, Alexia has been studying astrological chart interpretation using the Traditional Astrology system since 2021 is starting this next phase by planning to offer beginner friendly natal chart readings within the Empowered Moon ecosystem. She is also examining the possibility of performing “astro reiki” treatments where natal chart readings are combined with reiki healing sessions. Other future offerings may include combining astrological chart analyses with tarot readings as well.
